Dire Dawa, Ethiopia – November 5, 2025 – The 7th General Meeting of the Ethiopia Djibouti Females at Makerspace (EtD-FaM) Project was successfully held at Dire Dawa University, bringing together both national and international partners of the project.
The meeting began with a review of the action items from the 6th General Meeting. The project coordinator presented a comprehensive reflection on the progress made, highlighting key achievements and challenges encountered since the previous session.
Following the opening presentation, representatives from the various work packages shared detailed updates on their ongoing activities. These included:
Training of Trainers (ToT) sessions organized for makerspace managers and assistants, aimed at strengthening technical and management capacity;
The development of a business plan focused on ensuring the long-term sustainability of the EtD-FaM project;
Progress on tools and methodologies prepared for conducting and summarizing an industry survey;
Implementation of quality management and control tools to enhance project performance;
A comprehensive evaluation of the status of deliverables across all work packages.
An external evaluator also presented an overview of the project’s overall progress, emphasizing both the accomplishments achieved so far and key areas for continued focus.



The meeting concluded with a collaborative discussion on the next steps and the formulation of a new set of action items to be addressed before the 8th General Meeting.
The EtD-FaM project continues to play a vital role in promoting innovation, technical capacity building, and sustainable collaboration between academia and industry in Ethiopia, Djibouti and beyond
