Empowering Women Innovators Through University-Industry Collaboration!
Ethiopia Djibouti Females at makerspaces (EtD-FaM ) project participated in a collaborative meeting on October 28,2025 at Addis Ababa with selected companies leading in innovation and makerspace development. The session, organized under the MaDE for UASs Project, brought together universities and industry partners to explore practical ways of achieving impactful outcomes through collaboration.
Discussions highlighted the skills gap among university graduates and underscored the importance of strengthening partnerships between academia and industry. Industry participants also extended invitations to showcase their makerspaces and share insights on effective management and operations.


Representatives from the private sector expressed strong commitment and enthusiasm to support the initiative, pledging to work hand-in-hand with universities to ensure that academic programs align with real-world industry needs. The event also created valuable opportunities for UAS management, lecturers, and students to connect with industry experts and foster collaborative, sustainable innovation.
This partnership represents a significant step forward in bridging the gap between education and industry, empowering women in innovation, and shaping the next generation of skilled professionals across Ethiopia and Djibouti.
